Through a Rainbow Lens wins the 2025 Albert B. Corey Award
United Lynn Pride’s Through a Rainbow Lens project was awarded the 2025 Albert B. Corey Award from the American Association for State and Local History. The Through a Rainbow Lens project documented, preserved, and shared LGBTQ+ stories from Lynn, Massachusetts using oral history interviews, transcripts, indexes, and archival materials. The project also presented a museum exhibit, virtual exhibits, and public talks to preserve Lynn's LGBTQ+ history and share these diverse stories with new audiences.

MARMIA digitized over 1,000 hours of Baltimore broadcasts
MARMIA has reached a major milestone — digitizing 1,036 hours of historic news broadcasts from WJZ-TV and documenting stories from Baltimore's underrepresented communities recorded between 1977-2000. Using tools like Aviary, ArchivesSpace, and automated transcription, the team streamlined its workflows to not only preserve this collection, but also to make it accessible, discoverable, and available for researchers, documentaries, and exhibits.

Unraveling the many-to-one archival arrangement dilemma at JMU
Archivists at JMU are taking on the “many-to-one” dilemma in AV arrangement and description — when one physical item holds multiple interviews or sessions — by creating smarter metadata models and layered arrangements. Using Aviary, ArchivesSpace, and Preservica together, they’ve found ways to keep physical items manageable while still making each recording discoverable.
